Cryptocurrency market cap up $20 billion, hits five-month high

As today's rally has now been sustained for over 12 hours, the total crypto market capitalization is seeing levels it hasn't seen in a long time. It is currently at a five-month high of $163.6 billion.

Today's influx of money into the crypto market was led by a major Bitcoin (BTC) movement, from around $4150 to just below the $5000 level. Although its price has now fallen back to around $4.7k, most of the other top cryptos have seen significant gains in the wake of this spike, prolonging the rally.

The total crypto market capitalization is now up just under $20 billion for the 24h period, with 4th-placed Litecoin (LTC) and 6th-placed Bitcoin Cash (BCH) seeing some major gains to support Bitcoin's rally. The last time total market cap was above this level was November 19, when it was moving in the opposite direction, falling from above $200 billion to around $120 billion.
