Legal experts wanted with knowledge in blockchain is in high demand
According to a recruiting firm for law firms and in-house legal departments, the demand for legal experts with knowledge in blockchain technology is at an all time high.
This news comes from information published by Law.com on April 17, according to Brian Burlant, who is the managing director at Major, Lindsey & Africa, which is a recruiter for those in the law field, law firms are having a hard time finding candidates knowledgeable in the blockchain space. The demand for those with blockchain knowledge is high and a lot of lawyers enter the space currently from regulatory practices or government, where they were engaged in practices that pertain specifically to cryptocurrencies, according to Burlant.
The recruiting expert Burlant stated that “for law students and those early in their legal careers, coupling a practical business approach with a working understanding of the technology is a good way to go.” He also believes that focusing on blockchain rather than individual cryptocurrencies is also a good idea.
Legal consulting firm, Zeughauser Group, and one of their partners Mary K. Young, also spoke on the importance of lawyers and their knowledge in blockchain technology:
“I think that the blockchain space was extremely popular for lawyers toward the end of 2017, and then the cryptocurrency crash happened, and a lot of lawyers who were working in crypto or blockchain went back quietly to whatever they were doing before, like Silicon Valley in the ’90s.”
