Swisscom Blockchain AG takes on ETH engineer Lukas Hohl as new CEO

The Zurich-based, blockchain-focused company Swisscom Blockchain AG has hired Ethereum engineer Lukas Hohl as its new chief executive officer.

According to a press release, the Swisscom Blockchain AG company, which offers blockchain technology consulting and project services to companies across all industries, is appointing 41-year-old Swiss citizen and Ethereum engineer, Lukas Hohl as their new CEO.
Hohl has held a variety of impressive roles at BearingPoint, Swisscom, Sofgen and Synpulse, while advising numerous financial companies on business and IT topics in Asia, the USA and Switzerland.
The Ethereum engineer and Harvard Business School alumnus currently still lives in Boston, USA, and will take over as CEO from 1 May 2019.
Roger Wüthrich-Hasenböhler, chief digital officer at Swisscom, said that in the past, 'Hohl has built up and managed companies, managed complex large-scale projects, is well connected in Switzerland and internationally, and fits excellently into the young team of Swisscom Blockchain AG.'
Hohl himself had this to says about his new role : 'Technology that fundamentally revolutionises existing systems, a young, talented team and an agile environment with our customers and within Swisscom – what more could you ask for?'
Recently Chepicap reported that Switzerland is one of the few countries which are going big on cryptocurrency adoption.
The country that maintains its independence from the European Union decided in December 2018 to revise its existing regulation by introducing a new license that allows crypto and blockchain companies to receive up to $100 million of public funds.
Several banking institutions in the country have already announced their new crypto-related services.
